Wolf’s Hole (Věra Chytilová, 1987) 1hr 32m
01/09 16:15 @ CCA Glasgow
10 teens are chosen to take part in a special skiing workshop in the mountains, though 11 arrive. A massive avalanche occurs and the ski-lodge is cut off from outside contact. With limited supplies, the mysterious instructors strongly advise that the youths work together to make do...or choose someone to leave.
A late classic from the director of Daisies, and a rare horror, as yet unreleased in the UK. Here, Chytilová exposes the mechanisms by which totalitarian regimes manipulate the populace. A snowy counterpoint to the optimism of her early work, Wolf's Hole holds many surprises.
